Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Simulation Operations Specialist to provide technical support for all simulation operations, including maintenance and repair of patient simulators, task trainers and multimedia peripherals. You will program scenarios, support education initiatives, and operate simulators with facilitators to ensure safe, effective simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or degree in progress with completion within three years.
• Two years’ experience in healthcare simulation, or five years in lieu.
• Proficiency with audio/visual equipment.
• Proficiency with PC and MAC applications including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for simulation operations, including maintenance and repair of patient simulators (software and hardware), task trainers and related multimedia peripherals.
• Support the development and implementation of simulation-based education.
• Serve as simulator operator by testing and running scenarios together with simulation facilitators.
• Program simulator software with clinical scenario parameters.
• Ensure appropriate setup & breakdown/cleanup of simulation environment, equipment, and supplies.
• Train Simulation Facilitators and other simulation users in the operational/technical aspects of simulation.
• Schedule simulation experiences and maintain safe, organized and efficient simulation centers.
• Interface with equipment manufacturers regarding operation, troubleshooting and system problems; maintain repair records.
