Job summary

Avila University is seeking a Nursing Simulation and Learning Resources Technician to coordinate and run simulation activities and nursing skills labs. You will manage equipment, supplies, scheduling, and educational resources while maintaining a safe, organized learning environment for student skill development.

The role focuses on operating simulation tech, assisting in budgeting for labs, and collaborating with faculty to optimize laboratory resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Simulation certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
• Experience with nursing simulation, skills labs and healthcare education environments preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related technology.
• Ability to learn and utilize LMS, simulation platforms, and newly implemented software.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external vendors.
• Knowledge of simulation methodologies and nursing skill laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate simulation experiences, equipment, and related technologies.
• Serve as standardized patient to ensure consistent student experiences.
• Maintain confidentiality of case materials and student performance.
• Be a champion for realism in clinical simulation.
• Proficiently operate, maintain, troubleshoot simulation and lab equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized simulation and lab environment.
• Schedule, set up, and break down simulation activities and lab exercises.
• Coordinate with faculty for laboratory scheduling and orientation.
• Maintain inventories and coordinate repairs/updates of equipment.
• Research products, obtain faculty input, and prepare purchase recommendations.
• Assist annual budget planning for simulation resources.
• Plan effective allocation and utilization of resources.
• Participate in governance meetings and other committees.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education related to nursing education and simulation.
• Perform other duties to support program goals and student success.
