Job summary

Portland Community College is seeking Standardized Participants to support the nursing program by portraying patients and other roles in simulated clinical encounters. This casual, on-call position provides opportunities to contribute to student learning in a formative educational setting.

The role requires acting experience, reliable attendance, ability to follow case materials, and strong communication. Pay is $16.30-$25.05 per hour, with potential benefits eligibility and a limit on hours per

Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and deliver consistent performances.
Experience as an actor or standardized participant.
Dependable, organized, and punctual.
Receptive to direction and feedback from faculty and simulation staff.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
High School Diploma

Responsibilities

Accurately portraying physical, emotional, and behavioral characteristics of patients, family members or healthcare professionals based on provided case materials.
Memorizing and consistently repeating key scenario details or responses.
Maintaining a high level of professionalism, consistency, and confidentiality throughout all learning activities.
Collaborating with faculty, staff, and fellow SPs to support student learning objectives.
