Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking an Instructional Support Technician to assist the School of Nursing and the SDSU-Chula Vista satellite location. You will support the daily operations of the simulation lab, coordinate, and ensure a positive educational experience for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience providing instructional or healthcare support services in an academic or healthcare environment.
• Experience ordering, maintaining and/or managing medical and healthcare‑related supplies and equipment.
• Familiarity with standard healthcare supplies and equipment.
• Experience as a licensed medical assistant, CNA, LVN, or corpsman/clinician.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment and lab technologies while supporting effective, hands-on learning experiences.
• Coordinate, schedule, and oversee daily lab and simulation operations to ensure safe, secure, and efficient environments.
• Manage purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and equipment selection aligned with program needs and budget.
• Oversee inventory systems, equipment tracking, and supply levels to ensure continuous lab readiness.
• Coordinate receiving, shipping, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance for lab operations.
• Provide administrative, reporting, and project support to sustain program operations and decision-making.
