Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Tennessee seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to oversee the Nursing Services department, coordinating planning, staffing and compliance with state and federal regulations.

This leadership role reports to the Director of Nursing and supervises unit managers, charge nurses and CNAs, ensuring compassionate, high-quality resident care. You will participate in QAPI activities, budget planning and staff development to maintain safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations and guidelines for long-term care.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Nursing Services department in compliance with laws and facility policies.
• Interprets and communicates policies to nursing staff and monitors practices.
• Participates in all admission decisions.
• Participates in management meetings to discuss census, resident status, complaints or concerns.
• Evaluates nursing staff performance and applies disciplinary measures per policies.
• Participates in QAPI or performance improvement activities as needed.
• Supports committees and promotes teamwork and effective communication.
• Ensures compassionate quality care with adequate staffing and supervision.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to improve service quality.
• Oversees nursing schedules to meet resident needs and regulatory standards.
