Job summary

SANANTONIOWEST seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in guiding licensed and non-licensed staff delivering 24/7 resident care. You will help plan and supervise nursing services, recruit and train staff, monitor resident safety, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while upholding resident rights and dignity.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate with physicians and families to maintain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing requirements.
• 3–5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Aid in development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff; conduct appraisals and resolve issues including disciplinary actions.
• Provide back-up for DON, RN and LVN staff; may provide direct resident care.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds, monitor resident conditions and safety; liaise with residents, families and physicians.
• Attend and conduct staff meetings; provide reports and recommendations to the DON.
• Assist DON with design, implementation and evaluation of nursing systems; ensure resident rights.
• Maintain confidentiality and stay abreast of regulatory changes.
