Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as a scheduler in a Healthcare or Long-Term Care setting is highly valued.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Strong organizational, administrative and time-management skills are essential.
• Ability to handle dynamic scheduling needs and adapt to last-minute changes.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important.
• Patience and the ability to relate tactfully with all staff.
• Ability to make independent decisions in emergencies and to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimal staffing seven days a week, around the clock.
• Develop and maintain nursing staff schedules considering workload and regulations.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders to optimize staffing mix and budget impact.
• Handle scheduling conflicts, last-minute changes and replacements as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, PTO, vacations, and schedule changes.
• Communicate schedule changes effectively with nursing staff.
• Monitor overtime and agency expenses to meet budget targets.
