Job summary

Abilene Christian University seeks a Program Director to provide academic, administrative, and clinical leadership for the Associate Degree Nursing program. The role ensures safe, competent nursing education and compliance with the Texas Board of Nursing and the program’s nursing accreditor.

The director will supervise full-time and adjunct faculty, coordinate clinical placements, and align curriculum with accreditation standards while supporting student success and licensure progression.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing is required; a doctoral degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current, unencumbered Texas RN license.
• At least two years of nursing practice experience in the area of expertise within the last five years.
• At least two years of prior nursing education (teaching) experience.
• Administrative and/or program leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and approve nursing program curriculum and develop policies and procedures to support the program’s mission, goals, and outcomes.
• Hire, evaluate, and supervise all program faculty.
• Teach and supervise clinical and simulation activities for students.
• Oversee licensure advising and NCLEX-RN eligibility processes.
• Ensure program accreditation and Texas Board of Nursing standards are met.
