Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin is seeking a clinical, non-tenure-track Associate Professor or Full Professor to serve as Director of the Nursing Program. The role includes academic and administrative leadership, ensuring compliance and driving BSN/MSN curriculum delivery while maintaining limited teaching load.

Responsibilities cover accreditation, student outcomes, clinical partnerships, and faculty development within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Five key requirements for candidates: Master’s in Nursing; doctoral nursing or related field; active Texas RN license; at least three years teaching in a professional nursing program; at least three years leadership/administration in nursing education.

Responsibilities

• Ensure TBON compliance and program accreditation standards.
• Oversee BSN/MSN curriculum development and delivery.
• Lead faculty and administrative staff; recruit and mentor team.
• Manage clinical sites and partnerships; ensure student outcomes.
• Administer resources and budgets for the nursing programs.
• Support advisory board and community health initiatives.
• Represent nursing across the institution and with regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate admissions, progression, and graduation prerequisites.
• Ensure timely documentation for licensure and program reporting.
• Maintain program quality and prepare/monitor program assessments.
• Facilitate regular faculty meetings and data-informed decisions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the college dean.
• Maintain a non-teaching workload capped at 3 semester hours.
