Yale New Haven Health System is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to advance nursing education and staff development across its health system. The NPDS facilitates professional growth from novice to expert, aligning with ANA standards and organizational goals, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role partners with nursing education and clinical leadership to design and evaluate training, support leadership skill building, orientation, and ongoing

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing (or higher) required; one degree must be in nursing.
• Candidate must be enrolled in a Master's program with completion by 6/1/2027.
• 3-5 years of active nursing experience; teaching experience preferred.
• RN licensure in CT/ RI and Nursing Board Certification within 2 years of hire.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

3-5 Years of active Nursing experience , one year of relevant teaching experience preferred , nursing staff development and/or specialty area preferred

LICENSURE

Licensure as a RN in the state of CT/ RI & Nursing Board Certification within 2 years of hire

SPECIAL SKILLS

Demonstrates ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

The NPDS would support their assigned area, and others as requested, throughout the health system. Travel to YNHHS entities as needed to facilitate professional development activities of nurses within YNHHS.
