Job summary

DC Government’s Office of the Chief Nursing Executive seeks a Director of Performance Improvement for St. Elizabeths Hospital.

The incumbent will serve as the primary senior advisor on quality and nursing program development, working with unit management to ensure effective performance improvement and resource allocation. The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with recommendations for nursing leadership and a DC nursing license.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized professional nursing as a Registered Nurse related to psychiatric nursing in a hospital setting.
• One year of professional experience at the next lower-level equivalent to DS-13.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse with DC or pending licensure application.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Chief Nursing Executive on quality and development of plans to address deficiencies in nursing services.
• Direct and supervise nursing services to ensure quality and performance requirements are met.
• Monitor and audit documentation and report findings to the Chief Nursing Executive and Nurse Managers for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with hospital leaders to develop and revise patient care programs and nursing procedures.
