Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Professional Development Manager – Leader (PDM) for the Critical Care Surgical Trauma units at the Boston Main Campus. The role leads lifelong learning, supports nursing practice, and drives workforce readiness.

Partnership with Nurse Directors and leadership teams is essential to align education with regulatory requirements and patient outcomes. The PDM will oversee onboarding, competency development, and specialty education while advancing quality improvement

Qualifications

• Nursing licensure in Massachusetts is required.
• Five years of nursing experience with critical care background is required.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing training programs in healthcare is required.
• Leadership experience in nursing education is preferred.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and drive competency-based development.
• Familiar with Joint Commission, CMS, and magnet accreditation processes.
• Experience with research posters or journal publications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and update training programs for diverse hospital staff.
• Assess learning needs and gaps to inform curricula.
• Organize engaging training sessions and workshops.
• Oversee onboarding and role-specific training for new staff.
• Maintain records of training activities and outcomes.
• Collaborate with external training providers for resources.
