Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPDG) to lead education and competency initiatives across nursing staff. The role emphasizes onboarding, competency assessment, and evidence-based practice changes to improve patient outcomes.

Under general supervision, the NPDG guides staff development, aligns programs with strategic goals, and supports interprofessional collaboration within the Nursing Training and Education department. Full-time, on-site in MA.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program; at least 5 years of progressive clinical nursing practice.
• Massachusetts RN license with BLS current; certification in specialty preferred.
• Teaching experience strongly preferred; unit/role coverage preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and prioritizes learning and practice needs using data.
• Designs and implements education plans aligned with goals.
• Leads onboarding and orientation for new staff.
• Oversees ongoing competency assessment and continuing education.
• Serves as clinical practice resource and consultant to staff and leaders.
• Integrates standards and regulatory requirements into practice and documentation.
• Facilitates interprofessional education initiatives and committee participation.
• Maintains program and instructor responsibilities including AHA courses.
