UPMC is seeking an Administrator on Duty to join our Nursing Administration team at the Community Osteopathic campus in Harrisburg. This is a full-time, rotating shifts position with weekend and holiday commitments.

The role provides interim leadership, guiding patient flow, staffing decisions, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe, efficient operations. Final placement on the career ladder will reflect education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) processes to ensure smooth patient placement.
• Provide leadership to department leaders to maintain safe staffing levels and efficient throughput.
• Apply evidence-based practices and drive quality improvements related to patient throughput and capacity management.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff and preceptors; model professional communication and teamwork.
• Represent hospital administration during crises and coordinate internal/external communications as needed.
