Job summary

Sonoma Post Acute is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading licensed and non-licensed staff to deliver high-quality resident care around the clock. You will help plan, supervise and improve nursing services and ensure policy adherence.

The role includes staff recruitment, training, performance review, and acting as DON backup. Strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and communication with residents, families and physicians are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN required or preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing.
• 3–5 years of nurse management experience in long-term care preferred.
• Strong ability to read, interpret regulations, write reports and present to teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff in collaboration with the DON.
• Provide backup for DON, RN and LVN staff and supervise overall operations.
• Oversee daily rounds, monitor resident conditions and safety.
• Maintain resident rights and coordinate liaison with families and physicians.
