Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing licensed and non-licensed staff providing resident care 24/7. The role emphasizes staff development, policy implementation, and ensuring high standards of resident safety and dignity.

You will supervise clinical operations, participate in rounds, handle staffing and training, and liaison with residents, families, and physicians, while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing; state board in good standing and ongoing CE/licensing.
• 3-5 years of nurse management experience in long-term care preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and healthcare software.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret regulations and policies.
• Strong communication and staff development skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning and supervising nursing staff.
• Help implement nursing services policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff.
• Contribute to employee appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Back-up for DON, RN and LVN staff.
• Oversee clinical operations and daily rounds.
• Ensure resident safety and dignity.
• Liaison with residents, families and physicians.
• Attend or lead staff meetings when DON unavailable.
• Provide reports to DON on nursing operations.
• Help design and evaluate nursing systems to ensure consistent care and resident rights.
• Lead ongoing in-service training for staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and employees.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate them.
