Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading the community’s clinical operations. You will ensure residents receive high-quality care aligned with physician directives, regulatory standards, and Cedarhurst’s mission.

You will supervise nursing and care staff, develop in-service training, oversee day-to-day nursing duties, coordinate care plans, communicate with families, and help drive quality improvement and occupancy

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school with an active RN or LPN license.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with dementia care and person-directed approaches preferred.
• Experience in preadmission assessments, staff training, and resident education.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in defining nursing standards and lead in their absence.
• Oversee nursing services, medications, and care plans per physician orders.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery.
• Participate in management planning, policy, and administrative decisions.
• Assess residents for appropriate levels of care and coordinate with teams.
• Supervise nursing and care staff, ensuring timely medication delivery and accurate eMAR.
• Manage department scheduling to meet labor budget and AOD guidelines.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, and retain a high-performing team.
• Promote resident well-being and support occupancy initiatives.
