Job summary

Cedarhurst of Nicholasville is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing and oversee nursing and caregiving staff to deliver high-quality resident care.

You will participate in rounds, develop in-service education, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate care plans with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role emphasizes leadership, safety, and compassionate care, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school with an active RN or LPN license and 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing with defining and maintaining the standards of nursing practice within the community and assumes responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in their absence.
• Assist with oversight of medications, treatments, and nursing services according to resident care plans and physician orders.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care.
• Participate in management planning, policy formation, and administrative decisions focusing on nursing services.
• Assess residents and potential residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Coordinate work of nursing and care staff and communicate health and safety information.
• Supervise medications for residents who self-administer if applicable.
• Oversee day-to-day nursing duties on scheduled shifts.
• Oversee pharmacy relationships, timely medication delivery, and address concerns.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and retain a high-performing resident care team.
• Engage in efforts to increase occupancy while prioritizing resident wellbeing.
• Promote wellbeing and strive for residents to regain self-care and independence.
• Understand residents’ advance directives and respect their wishes.
• Ensure effective communication with residents’ families about care.
