Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking an experienced Nursing Manager to provide executive leadership for patient care services. The role includes staffing leadership, collaboration with Nursing Management and the Admitting/Bed Management teams, and ensuring adherence to policies and performance standards.

The position requires an RN license, BSN/BS/MSN, and a track record in acute care and leadership, with a focus on continuous care quality and disaster readiness. On-call responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN/BS/MSN required; Masters preferred.
• Three years acute care nursing experience and three years supervisory or leadership experience required.
• Current licensed RN in the applicable state; Certification within one year; BCLS required; ACLS/PALS may be required within one year.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison for hospital executive director on call and patient care services management team.
• Leads appropriate staffing placements and collaborates with Nursing Management and Staffing Office.
• Analyzes resource utilization trends and recommends changes to Nursing Director/Manager.
• Coordinates patient placement with Admitting, Bed Management, and clinics; conducts daily debriefings.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses and ancillary staff to resolve clinical/operational issues; co-management with Hospitalists.
• Serves as resource for policies, standards and performance; provides disciplinary counsel as appropriate.
• On-site liaison for Hospital Administrator on-call; communicates with Communications/Marketing as needed.
• Promotes Caring Science, professional development, and a respectful practice environment.
• Ensures disaster plans are followed and coordinates related activities; represents CNO after hours.

Education

BSN/BS/MSN required; Masters preferred
