Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current state license.
• Organized and detailed in work performance.
• Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
• Comply with Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.
• Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.
• Function independently with flexibility, integrity and teamwork.
• Relate to and work with ill, elderly, and at times hostile residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing day-to-day nursing department functions.
• Make reports/recommendations to the DON as necessary.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure cohesive care.
• Monitor day-to-day operations and manage records, budgets, or supplies.
• Ensure staff follow job descriptions and nursing standards.
• Participate in quality assurance and regulatory surveys.
• Develop and update resident discharge plans.
• Fill in as acting DON or other nursing positions as needed.
• Attend in-service education programs to meet requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records.
