Job summary

Hcshiring is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Department in a Georgia long-term care setting. You will manage resident care, regulatory compliance, staffing, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The DON will oversee administrative, clinical, and safety functions, participate in budget planning, and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations while promoting a patient-centered culture and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse in good standing with current state license.
• Significant leadership/management experience in a nursing department.
• Minimum two years in geriatrics/long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services and department programs in line with policies and regulations.
• Participate in facility surveys and coordinate with administration on compliance.
• Supervise nursing staff, delegate duties, and conduct daily rounds.
• Collaborate with Medical Director, staff development, and other departments.
• Lead budgeting, staffing plans, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate care plans, chart audits, and physician orders follow-up.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and infection control across nursing operations.
• Monitor admissions, patient flow, and coordination with care teams.
