Job summary

Community College of Allegheny County’s Boyce Campus is seeking an Instructor - Nursing for a full-time, 10-month appointment. The primary duties are teaching nursing courses and developing the curriculum.

The ideal candidate holds a PA RN license and a Master’s in Nursing with clinical nursing experience, and will use educational technology to enhance learning while maintaining office hours and contributing to program planning.

Qualifications

Current PA RN license.
Master's degree in Nursing.
Clinical nursing experience.
Proficiency with educational pedagogy.
Experience with LMS such as Blackboard.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Familiarity with discipline-specific technologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Teach nursing courses and develop curriculum in alignment with the Master Course Syllabus.
Create and deliver engaging learning experiences that support student learning outcomes.
Employ effective teaching strategies and maintain an engaging and efficient learning environment.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Cultivate a classroom environment that reflects the college mission, values and goals.
Participate in program and discipline activities related to curriculum development and implementation.
Contribute to program reviews and strategic planning, offering recommendations for curriculum, staffing, facilities and equipment.
Engage in ongoing professional development to deepen expertise and remain informed about educational trends.
Integrate relevant educational technology tools into instruction.
Participate in department, division, campus and college meetings and committees to support institutional goals.
Maintain weekly office hours as required by the CBA.
Perform other related duties as outlined in the CBA.
