Zusammenfassung

MedVet is seeking a Nursing & ICU Veterinary Assistant for our Cleveland-area emergency and specialty team. The role offers a Thursday–Saturday 9a–9:30p schedule with a pay range of $17.00–$28.00 per hour based on experience.

You will supervise patients, assist with procedures, and educate clients on medications and home care. Ideal candidates have prior veterinary nursing or critical care experience, strong calculation skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifikationen

• Prior veterinary experience required, nursing or critical care experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations and medical terminology.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with accuracy.

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Partner with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications and wellness.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prep samples for external labs

We are looking for: Nursing & ICU Veterinary Assistant

Proposed Schedule: Thursday - Saturday 9a-9:30p

This role has a hiring range of $17.00-28.00/hr based on experience.

Never a dull moment in the Nursing department! Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are being executed. This department is perfect for someone who can identify patient distress and react accordingly, enjoys phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, assisting with recovery and client follow up and education.

What you’ll do:

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary

• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns

• Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients

• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures

• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients

• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required, previous nursing or critical care experience desired

• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)

• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
