Zusammenfassung

MedVet is seeking a credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-growing emergency and specialty team in Cincinnati. The schedule includes Thursdays and Fridays, plus every other Saturday and Sunday from 7a–7:30p, with opportunity for additional hours as needed.

You will perform phlebotomy, place IV catheters, provide nursing care and client education, and assist DVM with exams and procedures in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifikationen

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required; previous nursing or critical care experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations for drugs, CRIs, and unit conversions.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications, and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

Never a dull moment in the Nursing department! Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are being executed. This department is perfect forsomeone who canidentifypatientdistress and react accordingly, enjoysphlebotomy, placing IV catheters,assistingwith recovery and client follow up and education.

Whatyou’lldo:
