Job summary

Camellia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Henderson, NC is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals for our residents while following dietary restrictions and safety standards. You will work under the Dietary Manager and collaborate with the healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs.

The role requires ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain), high school diploma or GED, and prior healthcare food service experience.

Qualifications

• Current ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous healthcare or institutional food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety practices, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position and work safely in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, therapeutic diets, and physician orders.
• Ensure meals are prepared, portioned and served timely with high quality and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local dietary and food safety regulations.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, organized and sanitized.
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate food safety records.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Provide courteous, friendly, and professional service to residents and visitors.
• Assist with other dietary department duties as assigned.
