Job summary

Camellia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Henderson, NC is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals and ensure safety and compliance in a skilled nursing setting.

You will follow planned menus, meet dietary restrictions, and work closely with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to support residents’ nutritional needs while maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, hospital or institutional food service preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety practices and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, therapeutic diets, and physician-ordered dietary restrictions.
• Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in a timely manner while maintaining quality and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all dietary and food safety regulations.
• Keep kitchen equipment and prep areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate food safety records.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Provide courteous, friendly, and professional service to residents, visitors, and staff.
• Assist with other dietary department duties as assigned.
