Job summary

The MPRD is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for residents in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards. You will work mornings and afternoons, following approved menus and nutritional guidelines to deliver appetizing, well-portioned meals.

Responsibilities include serving meals, maintaining a clean kitchen, adhering to infection control policies, and assisting with inventory and meal planning as directed by the Food & Nutrition Manager.

Qualifications

• Six months of paid quantity food preparation experience.
• Formal or on-the-job training in quantity food preparation, sanitation and safety.
• Prefer some knowledge of therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various food items.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control policies.
• Follow recipes and dietary plans for residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and proper food storage.
• Assist with inventory and ordering as needed.
• Attend required meetings and perform additional tasks.
