Job summary

Greene County Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable Cook for the morning shift to join the Dietary team. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow physician-ordered diets and standardized recipes, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations in a resident-centered setting.

The ideal candidate has experience in food preparation, sanitation, and the ability to read and follow menus and recipes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, menus, and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and therapeutic diet orders
• Review menus and process diet changes to ensure residents receive appropriate meals
• Prepare and serve meals in a timely, appetizing, and sanitary manner
• Follow portion control guidelines and food safety standards
• Assist with meal service, snack preparation, and special events as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, food storage areas, and workspaces
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and proper storage of food and supplies
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and dietary regulations
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary Director and healthcare team to provide excellent resident care
• Complete required documentation and perform additional duties as assigned
