Job summary

West Virginia Northern Community College seeks applicants for a full-time, nine-month renewable Nursing Faculty position to begin Fall 2026.

Primary duties include instruction, academic advising, and college/community service, with a 30 load hour per year expectation; responsibilities include syllabus development, assessment, and program accreditation activities. Salary will be based on the current faculty salary scale and includes a full benefits package.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in a related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Nursing.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with willingness to obtain Master's Degree within 3 years, required.
2 years professional nursing experience with direct patient contact, required.
Current, valid, and unencumbered West Virginia RN license upon employment

Responsibilities

Follow the rules and regulations of the College.
Develop a syllabus using the approved template for each course taught.
Submit each syllabus electronically by the first day of class.
Maintain a workload of 30 load hours or 600 health sciences contact hours per academic year.
Meet classes and provide instruction for classes as scheduled.
Assessment of course learning and student learning outcomes.
Collaborate on collecting, reporting, and analyzing assessment data.
Advise students in respective program(s) including academic counseling and career guidance.
Assist in program review, annual report, accreditation reports, and other program-related duties.
Participate in institutional activities and College events.
