Job summary

Slippery Rock University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate (Tenure Track) Faculty in its nursing programs. This faculty member will primarily teach theoretical, lab, and clinical courses in the Pre-licensure BSN program.

The successful candidate will contribute to the academic and professional development of nursing students, preparing them for licensure and careers in nursing, while engaging in research and service within a collaborative academic environment.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license with nursing practice experience for at least five years.
• Graduate degree in nursing; PhD/EdD or doctoral degree by start date.
• Experience in medical–surgical nursing and teaching in a nursing program for at least two years.
• Ability to teach theory, lab, and clinical courses; commitment to tenure-track scholarship.

Responsibilities

• Teach BSN courses including theoretical, lab, and clinical components.
• Develop, review, and continuously improve nursing curriculum to meet standards.
• Oversee and evaluate student performance in clinical and lab settings.
• Advise students on academic progress, career goals, and NCLEX-RN preparation.
• Engage in research, scholarship, and presentations at conferences.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service and committees.
• Maintain currency in nursing education through ongoing professional development.
