Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a nursing student to develop hands-on clinical skills under an RN preceptor. You will participate in patient care, assessments, planning, and care delivery, with emphasis on safety and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Under supervision, you will document nursing interventions, assist with activities of daily living, and communicate observations to the healthcare team to support patient goals. Incumbents rotate shifts and travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
• When enrolled in a BSN program: entering senior year and completed med/surgical clinical.
• When enrolled in a Diploma/Associate program: final year of nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the RN preceptor, provides patient care through an interdisciplinary approach.
• Under the direction of the RN preceptor, performs nursing interventions and documents per policy to assure patient safety.
• Assists the RN in direct patient care and activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and transport; reports observations to the nurse.
