Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Nurse Intern to support patient care under the direct supervision of an RN. You will assist with essential care tasks, participate in a therapeutic environment, and focus on hands-on learning to improve patient experience and contribute to healing.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the healthcare team, safe and compassionate care, and adherence to facility policies. Prior clinical exposure is preferred, with ongoing nursing program enrollment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program.
• Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
• 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care within scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and patient comfort measures.
• Communicates effectively with the care team, including handoffs and bedside shift reports.
• Develops clinical skills under the guidance of an RN.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment meeting safety standards.
• Assists with basic equipment maintenance and proper storage after discharge.
• Performs hourly rounding and supports therapeutic patient interactions.
• Documents tasks and observations clearly and timely.
• Upholds excellent customer service with patients, families, and departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
