Job summary

Research Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Nurse Extern to join the nursing team. You will gain hands-on experience delivering safe, compassionate care under supervision while exploring the RN role and progressing through your nursing program.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in an RN nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team.
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for recovery.
• Maintaining clean, safe patient areas and complying with infection prevention practices.
• Engaging in learning opportunities and partnering with your supervisor to build your career plan.
