Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to support evidence‑based practice, educate staff, and advance nursing excellence. Based on South Pointe and Marymount Hospitals, this role focuses on Critical and Progressive Care teams and on-site education.

The ideal candidate will design educational offerings, assess learning needs, develop evaluation systems, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Ohio with a current license.
• BSN required; Master’s preferred but not required.
• Experience as a preceptor or instructor.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, direct, implement, and evaluate educational offerings based on knowledge, skills and learning levels of nursing staff.
• Identify learning needs and desires of nursing personnel.
• Develop and utilize evaluation systems to determine effectiveness of educational activities.
• Consult with Nursing Institute, Ambulatory Nursing, CCF and the community regarding professional nursing practice and roles.
• Assist in development of department-specific orientation and competencies.
• Assist departments in orientation of staff.
• Develop and maintain a cataloging system for teaching-learning resources.
