Job summary

Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to plan, implement and evaluate orientation and ongoing education for nursing staff.

Based at the Main Campus with travel to other locations, the role supports evidence-based practice, uses adult learning principles, and collaborates with Nursing Institute and Ambulatory Nursing to advance care excellence. The caregiver will design offerings, assess learning needs, and maintain a resources catalog.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current state RN license required.
• Two years of recent nursing experience with preceptor, BCLS or ACLS instructor preferred.
• Knowledge of education methodology including needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
• Strong presentation skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Design, direct, implement, and evaluate educational offerings based on nurse staff knowledge, skills and learning levels.
• Identify learning needs and desires of nursing personnel.
• Develop and utilize evaluation systems to measure educational effectiveness.
• Consult with Nursing Institute, Ambulatory Nursing, and community regarding professional nursing practice and roles.
• Assist in development of department-specific orientation and competencies.
• Assist departments in staff orientation.
• Develop and maintain a cataloging system for teaching-learning resources.
