Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of nursing education and related regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including public speaking.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare general reports.
• Ability to apply laws and regulations governing agency operations.
• Ability to gather information through observation and document review.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience developing nursing program standards and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Communicates Board laws, regulations and policies to all appropriate parties.
• Conducts surveys of Board-approved nursing education programs for regulatory compliance.
• Prepares evidence-based reports with recommendations for Board action.
• Guides establishment of new nursing education programs and evaluates applications.
• Evaluates changes to programs for compliance and makes recommendations.
• Analyzes annual reports and statewide statistics on admissions, enrollments and graduates.
• Oversees licensure by examination application processes.
• Communicates NCLEX pass rates to Board and programs; advises on actions.
• Initiates special projects and research related to nursing education and NCLEX performance.
• Represents the Board to other state agencies, legislature and professional associations.
