Job summary

College of the Desert seeks an instructional professional in nursing to participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses, and student experiences. The instructor will meet classes as scheduled, develop syllabi, and ensure alignment with objectives and policies.

The role requires a Master’s in nursing (or equivalent BRN-qualifying credentials) and a valid California RN license, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and student advising

Qualifications

• Master's in nursing or equivalent credentials as required by CA BRN.
• Valid California Registered Nurse License.
• Sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and courses.
• Meet classes and laboratories on assigned days and times.
• Develop and distribute syllabi communicating objectives and policies.
• Evaluate and report student progress, and assign grades per policy.
• Participate in curriculum development and alternative teaching modalities.
• Advise enrolled students on courses, degree requirements, and learning skills.
• Engage in departmental meetings, governance, and college activities.

Education

Master's in nursing

Bachelor's in nursing + Master's in health education or health science

Equivalent or BRN qualifying credentials
