Fairfield University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Fairfield, CT campus. The Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies seeks educators to teach foundational undergraduate nursing courses, contribute to the profession, and advance the missions of the program, school, and university.

The teaching load is 12 credits per semester (typically 4 classes); faculty are expected to engage in service, scholarship, and campus activities,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing, or enrolled in a doctoral program, preferred.
• Active unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut.
• Academic or nursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes, as demonstrated through graduate course work, faculty-development programs, or completion or a certificate program in nursing education.
• Knowledge of teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development and competency-based assessment.
• Innovative in curricular development and prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach 12 credits each semester (typically 4 classes).
• Contribute to the profession and advance scholarship and service missions of the program, the school, and the university.
• Participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.
