Job summary

The Egan School seeks educators who will develop foundational undergraduate nursing courses and promote inclusive health outcomes for diverse populations.

The teaching load is 12 credits per semester (typically 4 classes). Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in nursing; a doctoral degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required.
• Doctoral degree in nursing, or enrolled in a doctoral program, preferred.
• Active unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut.
• Academic or nursing leadership experience commensurate with mission, goals, and outcomes.
• Knowledge of teaching and learning principles for adult education, curriculum development, and competency-based assessment.
• Innovative curricular development and readiness to incorporate simulation pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational undergraduate nursing courses; teaching load is 12 credits per semester (typically 4 classes).
• Contribute to the profession and advance the scholarship and service missions of the program, school, and university.
• Participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.

The Egan School seeks to inspire students to become leaders across social and healthcare environments who improve health outcomes for all, inclusive of underserved or vulnerable populations. Additional information on the Nursing program can be found here. We are particularly interested in educators with expertise in foundational undergraduate nursing courses. The teaching load is 12 credits each semester (typically 4 classes) for non-tenure track faculty. In addition to teaching, faculty are also expected to contribute to the profession and advance the scholarship and service missions of the program, the school, and the university. Faculty members are expected to participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.

• Candidates must be innovative in curricular development and be prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses.
