Job summary

Fairfield University, Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Nursing on our Fairfield, CT campus. The successful candidate will teach foundational undergraduate nursing courses and contribute to the profession and scholarship of the program.

We seek educators with expertise in adult education principles, curriculum development, and simulation pedagogy, who will participate in campus events, committees, and service

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing preferred.
• Active unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut.
• Academic leadership and teaching experience aligned with mission and goals.
• Experience incorporating simulation pedagogy into curricula.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational undergraduate and relevant courses; typical load is 12 credits per semester (usually 4 classes).
• Contribute to profession, scholarship, and service missions of the program, school, and university.
• Participate in on-campus events, meetings, committees, and student- and service-related activities.

We are particularly interested in educators with expertise infoundational undergraduate nursing courses . The teaching load is12 credits each semester (typically 4 classes) for non-tenure trackfaculty . In addition to teaching, faculty are also expected tocontribute to the profession and advance the scholarship andservice missions of the program, the school, and the university.Faculty members are expected to participate in on-campus events,meetings, committees, and other student- and service-relatedactivities.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing, orenrolled in a doctoral program, preferred. Candidates must hold anactive unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut. Academic ornursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals,and expected program outcomes is expected, as is documentededucation in teaching and learning principles for adult education,including curriculum development and competency-based assessment,as demonstrated through graduate course work, faculty-developmentprograms, or completion or a certificate program in nursingeducation. Candidates must be innovative in curricular developmentand be prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy intocourses.
