Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
Job Summary: The Director of Nursing Services provides leadership and strategic support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in overseeing all nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units while ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care. This position holds 24/7 accountability for assigned areas and plays a pivotal role in supporting the competency development of clinical staff, resource management, and operational excellence in nursing services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and operational support to the CNO in driving excellence in nursing care across multiple hospital units.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Promote continuous professional development and competency among nursing staff.
- Manage staffing, resource allocation, and performance to enhance operational efficiency.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for nursing professionalism, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and industry standards for nursing care.
Qualifications
Education:- Required: Associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
- Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a master's degree in a healthcare-related discipline.
Experience:- Required: Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital setting, serving as a manager or full-time charge nurse.
Certifications & Licensure:- Required: Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
- Must be licensed, certified, or registered as required by state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies:- Strong leadership abilities and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven capability in hospital operations, nursing administration, and patient care excellence.
- Ability to mentor staff, manage resources efficiently, and uphold a culture of safety and professionalism.
