Job summary

Ohio Living seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to plan, organize, develop, and direct the Nursing Department at a life plan community, ensuring the highest quality care in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Essential duties include operational leadership, staff development, budget management, and coordinating care across departments while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unencumbered RN license for the state of Ohio.
• Three years supervisory experience in health care settings.
• Five years nursing experience in hospital or long-term care.
• Six months training in rehabilitative/restorative nursing practices.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Nursing Department operations and ensure high quality resident care.
• Manage budgeting, expenditures, and monthly financials for nursing services.
• Ensure care plans and documentation are accurate and compliant.
• Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with departments to maintain continuous care and safety.
• Serve on QA, infection control, and safety committees; enforce regulations.
