Job summary

Ocean Gardens Care Center in New York, NY is seeking a dedicated ADON/RN to lead the Nursing Department, ensure quality resident care, and supervise nursing staff. The role requires strong knowledge of regulatory standards and experience in long-term care settings.

Responsibilities include planning and coordinating programs, managing staff performance, and coordinating with the Director of Nursing to maintain high standards of care and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in a long-term care or subacute facility.
• Prior nursing administrative/supervisory experience in a long-term setting.
• Knowledge of MDS and care planning.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing long term care facilities.
• IV certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organization, development, coordination and direction of the Nursing Department.
• Directly supervise assigned staff including orientation and performance management.
• Conduct performance appraisals and corrective actions.
• Recruit and hire nursing staff in collaboration with leadership.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary team and ensure continuity of resident care plans.
• Develop and participate in staff development and inservice training programs.
• Perform administrative duties and prepare required reports and charting.
• Oversee compliance with safety regulations and facility policies.
• Participate in discharge planning and incident investigations.
