St. John’s University invites applications for a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Department Chair of Nursing for its BSN program within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

This role reports to the Dean and focuses on advancing accreditation, academic excellence, and practice-ready nurses. The Chair will guide ongoing program development, recruit and mentor a diverse faculty, oversee curriculum planning, and collaborate with the Simulation Center to provide quality clinical

Qualifications

• Nursing doctoral degree required (DNP, Ph.D. or equivalent).
• Experience as a nursing educator in an accredited program; BSN or higher preferred.
• Ability to lead program development, assessment and accreditation processes (CCNE).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with faculty, students, and staff.
• Commitment to inclusive excellence and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic and administrative leadership for the Department of Nursing.
• Guide development, assessment, and CCNE accreditation of the BSN program.
• Recruit, mentor, and support a diverse faculty and staff team.
• Oversee curriculum planning, course scheduling, and program evaluation.
• Engage in student advising and success initiatives; foster a supportive learning environment.
• Promote faculty scholarship and community engagement; collaborate with Simulation Center.
