Job summary

St. David’s Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, seeks a Manager of Nursing Case Management to lead patient-centered care coordination across the hospital-based case management program.

The role reports to the Case Management Director, oversees staff, ensures InterQual competency, and drives performance improvements while maintaining alignment with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Located in central Austin, this facility offers comprehensive services and Magnet recognition.

Qualifications

• RN with Bachelor’s Degree or MSW is required.
• MSW or LCSW in the state of practice preferred.
• Certification in Case Management or InterQual/IQCI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the case management department.
• Supervise and develop staff and oversee daily tasks/activities in the department.
• Ensure staff competency in using InterQual to progress the plan of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to ensure timely, appropriate patient management.
• Monitor the quality of CM interactions and documentation; audit records regularly.
• Participate in clinical performance improvement activities and reporting.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and external contacts.
• Cover department leadership in the Director’s absence and assist with staffing and education.
