Job summary

Baptist Health in Elizabethtown, KY seeks a Nursing Assistant for the Weekend Program on the Short Stay Unit. This part-time role runs 7a–7p with a 25% weekend differential. You perform age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision and contribute to safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include vital signs, mobility assistance, hygiene, and hourly rounds to ensure patient welfare and satisfaction. BLS within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Six months of hospital or long-term care facility experience preferred.

• Obtains and documents reported height and weight on admission.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated.
• Assists and promotes activity and ambulation.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene including showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Conducts hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.
• Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
