Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure, Certification, Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; 30 days to obtain BLS after hire.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the RN and completes activities of daily living.
• May take and record vital signs such as height, weight and oxygen saturation.
• Collects specimens for analysis and records intake and output.
• Provides personal care and assists with activities of daily living.
• Performs basic clinical procedures under supervision of a nurse.
• Assists with patient nutrition and meal setup/feeding.
• Supports safety and infection control practices.
• Assists as a sitter for patient safety.
• Assists with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues.
• Performs other unit-based tasks as assigned.
