Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, intake/output, nutrition, and safety for assigned patients.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Night shifts are available with a base pay range provided. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Basic ability to read, write and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients under the nurse's delegation and assists with activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs, height, weight, and oxygen saturation when directed.
• Collect specimens and monitor intake and output as needed.
• Assist with daily living, personal care and nourishment.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision or independently as trained.
• Support safety and infection control procedures for all patients.
• Act as a sitter for patient safety after required competency is completed.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant teammates.
• Participate in unit-based tasks and quality improvement activities.
• Comply with policies and participate in mandatory education.
