Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, intake/output, nutrition support, and safety adherence. The role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Strong interpersonal skills and basic computer/medical terminology knowledge are essential. No prior experience required; training is provided.

Qualifications

Basic ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic computer skills, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
Take and record vital signs (including height, weight, oxygen saturation) and report unusual observations to the nurse.
Collect specimens for analysis and monitor intake and output.
Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision.
Assist with room service, meal setup, and feeding.
Support safety culture and intervene to ensure patient safety.
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
Assist as a patient safety attendant when competent.
Help with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues.
Contribute to other unit-based tasks as needed.
