Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support nursing staff in providing compassionate patient care. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include taking measurements, aiding with meals, and participating in orientation and safety programs. A timely BLS certification is required (or within 30 days).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology recommended.
• Interpersonal skills and basic computer skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Take and record vital signs and intake/output as assigned.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient nutrition.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision and maintain infection control practices.
